Dispersion in Space and Time
The key idea of the proposal is to create a free, open forecourt — a generous space in front of the entrance to the rocks that allows visitors to arrive comfortably and experience their first encounter with the site. This space is also the result of a sensitive clearing of the landscape of unnecessary elements, allowing visitors to better perceive its natural atmosphere.
Within this forecourt, a small new entrance structure is created. A symbolic little bridge that initiates the ritual of entering the rock city. The architecture should neither compete with nature nor dominate it. Such ambitions are outdated and would inevitably lead to failure. Instead, we introduce only a subtle and sensitive intervention into the landscape, one that complements the space while respecting its natural character.
A complete return to the original state is unrealistic, nor do we seek it. Our structures are a natural part of the contemporary landscape of the Broumov region.
A key principle of sustainable tourism is the dispersal of visitors throughout space. Where places are not overcrowded, people move more freely, stay longer and perceive their surroundings more sensitively. By increasing comfort and gently guiding the movement of visitors, we create an environment that encourages a calm experience and greater respect for the place itself.
